TRIVIA: Who was the real-life model for Tinker Bell in Disney’s 1953 “Peter Pan”? ROG'S VIEWPOINT ![]() ![]()
(3 CAMS) RATED GGiven a great responsibility for the upcoming festival to restore the Pixie Dust Tree, Tinker Bell (the voice of Mae Whitman) faces an accidental disaster. Now Tink sets out on a quest across the sea to set things right. “Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure”, the second film in the “Tinker Bell” series, is a magical and worthy sequel. This direct-to-video movie hits its target audience, primarily young females, dead center. Younger boys aren’t totally ignored. In the grand tradition of Disney animated classics, there are elements of danger and adventure as well as messages of triumph and the value of friendship. The characters from 2008’s “Tinker Bell” return in mostly cameos, with the exception of Tink’s friend Terence (voiced by Jesse McCartney). He is a Dust-keeper who plays an integral part in the quest. A few new characters are introduced along the way. Most notable are trolls Bobble and Clank, who hinder the pixie’s journey, and a helpful firefly named Blaze. Director Klay Hall hasn’t forgotten how important music is to any Disney film. A wonderful score by Joel McNeely and Demi Lovato’s voice on “The Gift Of A Friend” add to the enchanting childhood experience. For the hard-core Disney animation collectors, the Blu-ray edition is visually stunning. The vibrant colors and fluid CG artwork give the feeling of a painting come to life. But even the standard DVD should keep the family busy long after the movie ends with deleted scenes, a documentary, the definitive guide to Pixie Hollow and a music video. “Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure” is sure to be treasured by fans of the series.
